Olympic Sponsorship

B&Q has joined forces with the British Olympic Association to support the British team in the run-up to the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 – matching Team GB’s drive with B&Q’s ‘Can Do’ attitude.

Under the scheme, B&Q financially supports both current Olympians and aspiring Olympians who are aiming to be selected for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing.

There are 11 aspiring Olympians who work in B&Q stores around the UK and are paid full–time wages, but allowed the flexibility to work part–time around their training and competition schedules.

At the same time, they are mentored by eight experienced Olympians, led by double Olympic champion Kelly Holmes, who also receive financial assistance from B&Q.
