The people in B&Q’s Human Resources team work together to deliver a complete HR solution for the whole business – and to ensure we provide the best possible service for our customers.
The Retail HR team helps Stores to recruit, develop and look after the 38,000-plus colleagues who come in contact with our customers every day. Every Warehouse and Supercentre has an HR Advisor or HR Coordinator, based in store and supported by a regional and divisional structure.
The SSO HR team is set up to provide support for each of the main business functions in the Store Support Office. There are also a number of specialist areas where HR supports the whole business, including:-
- Learning and Development – helping people to feel more confident about the work they do, to provide a better service for customers and to develop their careers.
- Resourcing and Talent – making the most of the abilities our people have; striking the best balance between the aims of the individual and the needs of our customers.
- Organisational Development – building a strong, clear culture for B&Q and making sure our people feel engaged with the aims and values of the business.
- Recognition and Reward – making sure that great performance is always encouraged and rewarded.
- HR Systems – making it easy to look after employees and comply with the legislation.
